XR
Why XR on the web?
From an artistic standpoint using proprietary and / or commercial infrastructure (i.e. any app that needs to be downloaded to display 3D objects that are uploaded to company servers) isn't the optimal choice because the artist doesn't really control the objects any longer, regardless of seemingly keeping ownership of the object. The company managing the infrastructure may decide to stop offering services or change the terms for any reason in the future. There are many problems with the current state of media ownership (rent) that don't apply exclusively to art but to ownership in general.
For those reasons we believe keeping everything on our own infrastructure and using the browser as the observer's eye is the correct decision.
This (currently work-in-progress) wiki tries to give comprehensive links and explanations on how to run your own marker based AR experience.
